Expected Graduation May 2025

I am a second-year Robert W. Woodruff Scholar at Emory University, the highest merit scholarship at Emory and one of the top largest merit scholarships in the world. I am pursuing a double major in Economics and Chinese Studies where I hope to combine my passions for economics and intercultural communication.

For my third year of university, I was accepted into The General Course Programe at the LSE to spend one year of my undergraduate studied abroad in London, UK on a full merit scholarship. During my year abroad I also worked in a global role at The Coca-Cola Company (see work experience for more information).

Summer 2022 I was awarded a national scholarship award from the U.S. Department of State called the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study at a Chinese university and advance my Mandarin skills through intensive courses on Public Health and Business and Entrepreneurship.

For the 2020-21 school year I took a gap year and studied abroad on a full scholarship from the US Department of State in New Taipei City, Taiwan at Tamkang University, 淡江大學 (Please see NSLI-Y Scholarship in the Accolades section for more information on the scholarship program). As a NSLI-Y scholar, I increased my Mandarin proficiency from it’s initial Intermediate-Mid oral Chinese Proficiency level to Advanced Mid, according to the ACTFL proficiency scale. While abroad, I built lifelong connections with the friends I made through volunteer work, school activities, and my host family.

As a recipient of the National Security Language Initiative for Youth  Summer scholarship from the State Department to study Mandarin at 双流中学实验学校 (The Experimental School of Shuangliu) to be fully immersed with a host family in the Chinese language and culture. As a junior in high school, this life-changing experience solidified my passions for studying Chinese language and culture. 

Honors and Awards: Unanimously nominated by the school administration to give a speech on behalf of the scholarship recipients to 550 people in both English and Mandarin.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is a rigorous academic program designed to promote international perspectives in education as a way to develop well rounded students challenged in all academic core and elective subjects.
